Dr. Jalaja Piska is a distinguished physician, double-boarded in Anesthesia (Graduated from Loyola University) and Interventional Pain Management (Graduated from Northwestern University).

Her remarkable journey in medicine is characterized not only by her exceptional medical expertise but also by her extraordinary personal story of resilience and determination.

Personal Journey & Inspiration
During her Anesthesia Residency, Dr. Piska survived a near-fatal accident that resulted in multiple injuries. Demonstrating remarkable courage and determination. This profound personal experience with trauma and recovery inspired her to pursue additional specialization in pain management, leading her to complete a fellowship at the world-renowned Northwestern University.

Philosophy of Care
Having experienced the physical trauma firsthand, Dr. Piska brings unique insight and empathy to her practice. She understands the comprehensive nature of pain management and its impacts.

She feels that pain affects the person in many aspects of life, not only the
patient but also family. “Pain is a complex problem. It involves physical, social, economic and personal aspects of a person’s life and his/her family. Pain needs to be evaluated and treated in a timely fashion is important to prevent in developing chronic pain”.

Teamwork is necessary to have successful treatment in between the patient, doctor and the therapist.

She is not only specialized in all acute and chronic pain problems but also specialized in
Neuropathic pain, Pelvic pain, Cancer pain, Post-surgical pain, Spinal and Joint pains, Regenerative treatment’s and Botox treatments for Migraine, Cervical Dystonia and spasticity.

Dr. Piska’s compassion extends to her community endeavors. She has organized and run free health fairs in India, aimed at helping people suffering from chronic and debilitating pain. Her mission is to restore normal and functional lives to her patients. Having endured and had changed her lifestyle herself, Dr. Piska understands the physical and psychological toll of such experiences and is dedicated to bringing normalcy to her patients’ lives.

She has also been actively involved in community service, serving on the executive committee of AAPI (American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin), where she
motivates and mentors’ young physicians to serve their communities.
